    Help with behaviours

I just started today and is learning the ropes. I'm having a little trouble understanding a few things.

    * I have a button that creates a moving object (think SMB-mushroom). I need to make it so that as soon as a new mushroom is created the old gets deleted. I can go "if number of mushrooms == 2 then destroy mushroom" which deletes all mushrooms and that's not so good. I guess I need to first destroy the mushrooms, and then invoke a separate behavior that creates a new mushroom, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that. Help?

    * What would be the best way to make a random either-or event? Like when the mushroom is created, either move left or right?

    Many thanks for your help!

    Oh, and also:

Let's say I want to make a temporary "god-mode" - for a limited period of time everything the character touches is destroyed (except floor). I would need to be able to say "if player collides with 'any object' then destroy that object". How do I do this?

    1. In the same event, use the destroy action on mushrooms and then the create action.
    2. Yes, use the Set Direction action and select both the left and the right direction - MMF2 will pick one randomly.
    3. Add all objects to a qualifier and check if they overlap that qualifier.

    Re: Help with behaviours

    Cool, thanks!

On number 2 (tihi): I'm using the PMO for the mushroom so the thing moves with the command "the user is holding X button". But if I set both "the user is holding the right button" and "the user is holding the left button" the little thing won't move at all. So what to do?

No, I mean you set the direction of the object's visible animation to both left and right and MFM2 will pick one at random, then if it is facing left you tell the PMO left, right tell the PMO right.

    Oh right! Thanks.

Regarding my third question - god-player also needs to destroy backdrops, and I can't add qualifiers to backdrop objects right?

    Re: Help with behaviours

    That's right...but you can't destroy backdrops either

You can only destroy a backdrop that was created with the "Create Backdrop" action in an active object. These backdrops may be destroyed with the action under the Frame object.
