    Build 252 Extensions Problems

    I just totally re-installed MMF2 for the new build, the install went fine and i had no problems doing that and also the default objects seem to work fine. I am noticing however that it won't list all the extensions i have downloaded from the forum.

    For example if i add ZlibStream when trying to load the example it says "Cannot load extension zlibstream.mfx" and the object is also not listed.

    So far i have noticed the following won't list -

    Advanced Collision (Flash)
    GamerSafe (Flash)
    Python Object
    ZlibStream

    However these listed fine -

    Create By Name
    GameTracker (Flash)
    RSS (Flash)
    FlashFX (Flash)

    I have the files placed perfectly though and the previous build was working fine also. So i am just wondering if this is due to the SDK changes maybe, a missing dependency or a general bug with the new build etc.

    Anyone have any ideas how i can fix this problem?

    I think everyone has random extensions that MMF2 just won't show. Fanotherpg started a thread about it a while back, but it disappeared...probably because it was related to build 252 and it was a time of 251.
    Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

    Yeah, I have had this problem since b251. Applications using the non listed extension load fine though, on any build type. Just can't use the extension in a game or application I am making.

    All of those are shown OK for me. But I had issues with some of exts and I suspected XNA runtime, one update was showing them other removing, but once it show them and after restarting MMF again hidden it. I dunno if it's a cause of INI becoming to big or what.

    I installed from the cd then updated with the new 252 patch. Later i added the flash exporter and re-installed 252 as i think it updates the flash exporter so i was not sure if it needed to be done again or not. So i basically installed the 252 beta twice however i don't know if that is the cause or not, installing was not a problem though.

    It's odd because before with the previous beta ZlibStream and Python Object both worked fine for me. It sounds like it's not just me getting this missing objects bug though, I am not sure what to do to fix the problem and get these working again but hopefully there is a solution.

    From what I can tell different people are missing different objects, almost randomly but with a few common ones. I have no idea what could be causing this because there does not seem to be a pattern...
    Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

    Python object

    This object depends on python26.dll. Is this file in the root of your MMF2 directory and in Data/Runtime?

    ZlibStream object

    This object seems to depend on the MSVC 2010 runtime library, so you (and the end users of your application) will probably need to install it.

    The author of this extension should note that it is common practice to statically link against the runtime library to avoid the dependency.

    Advanced Collision object, GamerSafe object

    Same situation as the ZlibStream object, but the MSVC 2008 runtime library this time.

    Same problems here... Would be fine if such requirements will be mentioned when extensions are released.

    Thanks Jamie for the information. Tis a pity that ED build in dependencies. DLL's are ok, because most of the time, ED include these with the zips.
