    Re: ScreenCapture

What this extension really needs is the ability to
save the file to the server
Actually the only problem is to be able to provide the path of the file to the Get object within the flash application somehow. I will be very happy if I could to open the file selector for that purpose. the best would be a "load file selector" extension for flash.

What I'm thinking is the save dialog box could be bypassed altogether. So there would be a new function, "Get Screen Capture as Base64", and you just use the return string with the GET object to have the server build the file.

the best would be a "load file selector" extension for flash.
That's a good idea for an extension, but there's not much you'd be able to do with the returned file besides send it to a server script. You can do this in HTML/PHP and have your Flash app call it, but you would have to pop a window with a file chooser in it, then send it to the script, then have it notify the Flash what location the file can be loaded. An extension would save you from HTML and clicking an extra button, but you'd still need a server script do do anything useful.

I'm explain if your windows hide the extensions are known, and if the user rename the default filenamein the save dialogbox, the saved file as no extension, possible to force this ?

    Umm...

Can someone please post steps for this?

I have tried several things, but I can't get any interactivity out of the extension. It's like it isn't even there...

After I insert the object into the screen, I am not sure what to do.

    Thanks!

Flash requires the mouse or a button to save things to user's computers. You can't use a keyboard key

The only types of event listeners are "mouseUp" and "mouseDown"

You can take the picture whenever you like, but you can't save it in anything other than the mouse listener.
    Did you try this?

As requested several times by several different users, I have now added the ability to send the image to the printer.

This new version of the extension is available at http://ext.awestruckdesign.com

Help is available on FusionWiki at http://www.fusionwiki.com/wiki/ScreenCapture

I initially supported this, but came up with a bit of trouble:
    http://www.actionscript.org/forums/s...d.php3?t=65020

But I will add the option to rotate the image 90 degrees, I think, as that may prove less difficult.
