    login to game ussing wordpress

I want to be able to put an swf client on a wordpress page and if the person is logged into wordpress, the client has the option to connect to the game server. If the client connects, it uses the username of the person logged into the website.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Well this wouldn't really be an extension.

Using the GET object would be the way to communicate with the server. You would also need to write a script (PHP for example) to interface between the data GET sends and the Wordpress database.

Impossible? No, just takes some work.
Its pretty much exactly the type of thing we did to connect the Gwerdy chat to the forum accounts here.

The Easy online score example is something to start with about how you could communicate with a server.

Be prepared for some work -- You can't do what you want without some work.

That could make for a good extension idea, or at least a tutorial...

Wordpress is probably the most popular CMS systems out there that many inidividuals are using.
By having an object that allows flash clients to connect to a server if they are logged into a website, coupled with a wordpress plugin to handle the php end of things, it would mean that people wanting independent arcades, mmos, chatrooms with features, and any other applications, would have a (more) turnkey solution than currently exists.

    What’s that mean?

Well, if the MMF2 version of flash applications are the only versions it works with, it would mean more opportunities for MMF2 users and probably more MMF2 users.

Think about it Jeff. Eliminating the burden from MMF users of developing a secure login system. Doesn’t it just make you smile? How many more people would have running multi-user applications today?

Or look at it this way
Wordpress would probably promote it. Every website host out there who wants people to upgrade to virtual machines would probably promote it.

    P.S. thx Ricky )
