can't find ini file

i've been using the clickteam tutorials, and now i'm on the ini object tutorial. when i finish the first part, which is supposed to create the ini file, it doesn't create one.

i also noticed that when i get to step 1.2, how to save a value, after running the frame, the program does not set my group to "STATS".

are there any ways around this? can I also change the directory where the ini file is created?

If you didn't tell it to create someplace specific it went into the Windows folder.

You could tell it to create in the same place as your game file by using Apppath$+"myfile.ini"

Look under the special icon then filenames for a whole host of commands to get various file system locations.

Its the first one in the event editor.
2 little computers with a ? mark on one of them.

You don't create an INI file. It is created when you change a value in the INI object.

what about when the ini file isn't created? i don't see anything in the windows folder, nor can i find it within my search.
