[CRASH] Memory Object Runtime Crash with Allocate(

This MFA works when run in MMF2 (edittime) but when built to an EXE it crashes (runtime).

Can anyone confirm? All you have to do is build the EXE and run it.

Does it still happen if you copy the Memory.mfx from Extensions/ to Data/Runtime/?

Re: [CRASH] Memory Object Runtime Crash with Allocate(

Yeah, the Extensions/ one is larger than the Data/Runtime/ one which doesn't contain all the edit-time stuff. The Extensions/ version of every extension can also be placed in the Data/Runtime/ folder, but it means a built application will be a little bit more bloated with unnecessary edit-time features.

When you test an application in MMF2, it's the Extensions/ versions that are in use. When you build an application, it's the Data/Runtime/ versions that'll be included.

I think Jamie asks to check if it's the extension itself doesn't work with a built application, or if it's only a broken runtime build. I guess when somebody fixes an extension, they sometime forget to build the new runtime version too.

In some extensions the size was the same, but yes replacing build time extension with runtime one works great.

I guess in those cases, the developer never built a runtime version.

Yes the runtime version is broken, which is why in my original post I used (edittime) and (runtime), and I don't mind using the edittime version at runtime until Jamie fixes it (it's pretty low priority)

I know you know. I was just replying to "but there is difference in file size."
