I don't know if this is of any interest, but I was told that group names are kept/stored in the compiled executable.

Group names are understandable... as the program needs names to be able to activate/deactivate groups.

Sure, but I'd rather have them obfuscated before compiling.

If the group system works like that I don't see how it is not possible to activate/deactivate groups by name - this feature has been requested many times and been marked as impossible... I think they are not stored...Jamie?
Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

Re: Comments left in Application Build?

One thing i have wanted to do recently is have objects in my frame that are not included in the build. I want this for templates, notes (in the frame rather than comments) and testing basically.

I have though about creating the objects then destroying them but i am guessing they are still stored in the exe then. Without having to manually delete them does anyone know if it's possible to make objects ignored from the build?

If this is not possible i would like to request this feature as i think it would be very useful.

Re: Comments left in Application Build?

I can't see why group names would be included in the executable. I mean, all you need is indexes and references. It's just like expressions, those are never stored in text format. When you open an expression in the expression editor, that's when the text is generated, and when you're done modifying the expression it's again stored in in a format that uses references. That's why you can rename expressions in extensions without breaking .mfa's

Of course it'd be possible to (assuming you can modify MMF2) store a list of which names that represent which group references, so there's no reason the feature is impossible to add. It's made a little bit more complicated since two groups can have the same name though (so I guess both would have to open and close together when called by name).

Personally, I don't think this feature is that much needed. It could cut the need for a few events, but if you want your code minimal it's much more important to have things like else and sub-events.

Re: Comments left in Application Build?

During the build fase, all the remarks are erased (removed) from the list of events. Any short cut to objects, where I cant find the object (in normal events, behaviors or global events) are treated. It ther are in a condition, the entiere event is removed. If they are in an action, just the action is removed.
At the end, the code exploited by the runtime is the minimum possible.

What about global values and objects, do they retain names in the executable?

I think they do, as they have been hard coded renamed.
