    Using external libraries

    Hey,

It's my first day of using MMF SDK

I'd like my extension to use external libraries. I've included the *.h file in Main.cpp, linked the *.lib file and defined its *.dll in General.cpp. Everything compiles fine and my extension can be accessed from MMF2.
However, if I try to use ANY function from the included library in the action routines, it compiles fine again, BUT it disappears from MMF's extensions list...

Even if I delete the function usage from my action routine and compile again, it's still not on the list. In order to make it back, I gotta un-link the *.lib file, compile again and then it's back.

Am I trying to use it wrong, or what?

    Re: Using external libraries

And extension will not show up if it cannot find the dependencies (.dll's in your case) they require. So you either have to put the .dll in the MMF2 folder along with your extension (and it needs to be bundled along the built executable) - or you can have it installed in the system folder.

Another option is (if possible) to statically link the library into the extension. That way it will always be included and no external .dll's are required. Some libraries forbids this in their license though.
