    GetObject Help

Are there any help files/docs for the GetObject extension? There's no help built in and the website link is offline.

    Thanks

    Re: GetObject Help

What exactly do you need help with? It has so few Actions, Conditions, and Expressions that a one paragraph explanation is more than enough help.

You optionally add POST data before getting a URL, then you Get a URL. You then have an event with the condition On Get Complete that triggers when the content is received, you can then use the expression to get the Received Content.

    Re: GetObject Help

Erm I still don't get it.(Sorry) Is there a simple example somewhere of...

1-How to send data to the database
2-How to receive data from the database.

    Things I don't understand-
The difference between POST and GET (their usage.)
    Why is POST optional?
Is a string parser a 'requirement' when getting data this way?

    Cheers

    Re: GetObject Help

1 & 2: The Get object doesn't work like that. All it does is download a file from the internet. You can have it download a PHP script that does stuff in the database and have the PHP script echo the result to be sent to the Get object, exactly like opening the page in your browser.

POST data is a way to transfer data to scripts outside of the URL - for instance, you could get a URL like this:
    http://www.example.com/Some_Directory/MyScript.php?name=grimmy&pass=uytb89q3
The information is passed through the URL. However with POST data you can pass with with the request instead of with the URL. There are some security advantages to this (such as URLs not being cached) and other advantages that I won't go into detail on.

And, of course String Parser is not a requirement. What made you think it was??
