    resizable swf

    Hi guys,

I hope it's only my lack of knowledge: is it possible to export the final swf output to be resizable just like a "normal" flash application?

As in the user can drag to resize it? Because I've never seen such a thing. Or do you mean like press a button and it expands?

    Elaborate?

If your using the newgrounds versions then you can load a blank application written with normal MMF2 which is the desired size.

If you have the exporter add-on, just change build mode back to normal for a moment to change window size.

finally; if you mean at run-time, you'll have to wait for someone; as i don't have the exporter on this computer.

    Re: resizable swf

Well, I though a simple swf.

Let's say we take a 640*480px image and put it into an application (both flash and MMF) and export as .swf

if you add this swf to a web page with the following parameters: width="800" height="600"
then the image in the flash swf is stretched by flash player to the desired size but the MMF flash keeps the original size of the pic and adds a white edge.

That white edge is actually more of your level-frame.

It may be necessary to scale the game yourself, which depending on your engine may be simple and straightforward or, quite complicated.

I'll just make an example :P

Nope. Frame size 640x480, application size 640x480, picture size 640x480 and there is the white part on the right and bottom when I embedd with with height and width paramters.

well, don't say that I should change everything to 800x600

I want it to be dynamic. Scale the swf according to the swf parameters

Try Looki's FlashFX extension, it does stage scaling. But the extension is still in beta:
