    Background objects disappear randomly

    Hi Guys,

    MMF 2 Dev
    I'm having a problem with background blocks disappearing at runtime even though they are present in the editor. I have the latest build and don't know if it's anything to do with that, it didn't do it before but that might be a coincidence.
    This problem does not seem to affect active objects just background ones with obstacle ticked.
    Just in case background blocks are included in the max objects, I tried increasing the amount from 500 to 1000 but it made no difference.
    Quick backdrops are not affected by this.

    I would like to know if anyone else has encountered this problem or does anyone know of a fix?

    These backgrounds...were they actives at one time and you are now pasting into the background? Is this a scrolling application?

    When you run the app,.up in the upper left hand corner,.what does the object count say? Even if you increased the objects at run time to 1000,.you might have more than that at run time. Not sure if that's the case, but worth checking on.

    Let's say you have the object cap at 500. This means that you can have 500 backdrops and 500 objects at the same time in the frame. I believe you may need to increase this so that at the start of frame it allows those backdrops to be created.

    Thanks for the quick replies.

    There is only a total of around three hundred blocks in including twenty four active ones. The background blocks were not converted from active ones ie: pasted into background. if I take the blocks that go missing and convert them to Quick Backdrops they no longer go missing. I did try increasing the number to a maximum of one thousand objects which is way more than I am using and the problem still occurs.

    The game is a scrolling one but it's not a huge level 2000 X 2000 and this is the first level. In the past I have created much larger levels with far more active and backdrop objects without any problems so I guess this is a fluke

    Just for the sake of it,..go to your Runtime Options. Is Standard selected? If so change it to Dirtect3D 9. One of my games one time would not let certain things appear when it was set to standard,.but as soon as I changed the runtime options to Direct3D 9,.all was fixed. Bug in MMF!?,.I think so!
