    Checkers Electric
    By Keith Adler

The classic game of Checkers with awesome retro graphics optimized for playing in the dark.

    Features

    - Single and two player modes
    - High resolution graphics for iPad and Retina display users
    - Three levels of CPU difficulty (Easy, Medium, and Yikes!) in single player mode
    - Catchy music and sounds
    - Ability to undo any moves all the way back to the start of the game
    - Valid pieces to be moved are shown brighter to make playing more intuitive

    Rules

Standard Checkers rules apply with the following being applicable:

    - Pieces are white and red
    - Starting color of players is picked at random
    - Red always goes first
    - Jumps are mandatory

As an FYI: I have a version 1.1 already in the works to address the difficulty of the Easy and Hard modes when you play the CPU. The Minimax w/Alpha Pruning algorithm I created is still way too smart for novice players making the CPU hard to beat in single player mode. Given my expertise with Checkers I didn't discover this during testing so the lesson learned is to test with as many people as possible.

While I did the AI logic as an extension (8,000 lines of C++/Objective-C that had me questioning my grasp of game theory) the UI aspect could never have been as good as it is without MMF2 Developer.

Love the app keith. I play draughts a lot and struggled in hard mode. My only request would be to have the option to turn off the particle effect in the background, it hurts my eyes.

That's some good insight Mike. I had the particles there in order to add some spice when playing in the dark. I'll work that into a future release for sure. For now you can shake your device to change the particle colors immediately instead of every ten seconds like it does on default.

The update to fix the difficulty settings has been pushed to Apple and should appear in about a week.

    Hi Jeff!
Do you still have the checkers mechanics you guys did a few years ago?
If you have and can sell me I would be very happy.
