You can use global or alt values using 0 and 1 as off and on states. I prefer using values because you can name them. Have to comment really well to keep track of flags if you are using a lot.

Where you would use a "turn flag 1 off" event, just use "set alt val A to 0". "turn flag 1 on" use "set alt val A to 1"

You can also use each bit in an Alterable Value as a flag. This way one ( 1 ) Alterable Value can contain many flags
Use Bitwise operations ( AND OR XOR NOT ) on the Alterable Value to handle and check each seperate Bit
    ...
This may however be a bit complicated if your not familiar with it, but when you learn how to do it its very usefull!

Are we really limited to 32 flags? I've been using flag numbers like 86, 72, etc. for as long as I've had MMF2. Are the flag numbers then independent of the number of flags, or is it actually unlimited?

Ouch. It'd set/compare all kinds of bits if you used a number > 31, so I think you've just found the source of some unexplainable bugs!

If that's the case, then I think MMF should be changed to say "enter the number of the flag (0-31)". As is, it just says "enter the number of the flag".

Or restrict the maximum number you can enter. Like if you enter 32 or greater, it defaults the value to 31

There is already security for that, 32 wraps to 0, 33 wraps to 1, 34 wraps to 2, etc.

I commend King_Cool's suggestion of using bitwise operators.

To set a flag on: Set Alterable Value A to Alterable Value A OR (2 pow (flag ID 0 to 31))
To set a flag off: Set Alterable Value A to Alterable Value A AND (NOT (2 pow (flag ID 0 to 31)))
To check a flag: Alterable Value A AND (2 pow (flag ID 0 to 31)) is greater than 0

This lets you have 32 additional flags per alterable or global value.
Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

    32 flags maximum?
32 Bits in an Alterable/ Global Value?
    ...
Are the 32 available flags composed from an Alterable Value maybe?

Sort of, they are composed of four bytes, just like alterable values are when they are integers.
