What does Jarsigner say when you verify the signature of the APK file ? Command :

    your_jdk_folder\bin\jarsigner.exe -verify -verbose -certs yourfile.apk

I just get this error: "jarsigner: jave.util.zip.ZipException: error in opening zip file" :/

Edit: Duh... I was trying to do this with the keystore file... hang on...

I think I figured out the problem... I was trying to do 100,000 days of validity, instead of your 10,000 in your example. It says "Certificate is valid from 3/8/12 to 7/10/11" so I suppose I should use 10,000 days eh?

You should be using 25 years for your certificate (eg: around 10000 days). You shouldn't have to go any higher than that.

Would the "Year 2038 Problem" with timestamps create any issues when setting up a certificate?

Okay, so now I have it validated from 3/11/12 to 7/28/39. At the bottom, it says "jar verified." but underneath that it says "Warning: This jar contains entries whose certificate chain is not validated."

    What does that mean?

    Edit:

After doing a Google search of this issue, it seems some people have solved this by downgrading to JDK 6, instead of JDK 7

I was just going to post that.

Apparently there are command line options to add to jarsigner to make it work with JDK7, I'll discuss with James to see if we can add that.

I'm testing using JDK 6 now. There however does not seem to be a "jarsigner" in my install of JDK 6...

    Edit: Scratch that, it's there

    Well crap. Still having issues...

    I switched to JDK 6 (path in MMF2's SDK Preferences: "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_31")
Should I be using the 32 bit version instead of 64 bit? That wouldn't be the problem would it?

Here's the debug when trying to install the app in Release Mode:

      s = signature was verified
m = entry is listed in manifest
k = at least one certificate was found in keystore
i = at least one certificate was found in identity scope

    jar verified.
It seems all is well, except for this line in the Debug:
    03-11 12:06:13.898: E/PackageParser(109): Package com.BipolarDesign.BigWillTimerBeta has no certificates at entry res/drawable/fire1d.png; ignoring!

Which is odd, because I don't use the virtual joystick/fire buttons at all in this app.

Edit: I attempted publishing to the Android Market, I still get this error when I try to install:
"Package file was not signed correctly."
