    Porting Flash game CrazyCrab to iOS

    I'm trying to port my Flash game CrazyCrab to iOS. Unfortunately when I try to run it in Xcode thru the Simulator, I seem to get errors. I don't know much about Xcode so below is a screen capture of what is happening. I'm using MMF2 Dev Unicode and I have tried with both b254 official and b254beta2. The Xcode version is 4.3. Now I'm stuck and I don't know what to do as I have followed the recommendations and guides about the iOS Export Module. Can someone help?

    PS: Sorry for the big sized pic!

    Been hoping for CrazyCrab iOS. Had been tempted to even make a game like it myself if you didn't do it!

    The error appears to be to do with some text somewhere. What strings/text are you using in it? NSString is Objective C's object for storing and manipulating a string of text and the error message you're getting appears to be from trying to interpret a string of text.

    Your error is also popping up in an IF ELSE loop, and notice this:

    if (rhPth->rhApp->bUnicode==NO)
    {

    <code>
    }
    else
    {

    <code which contains your error>
    }

    So the problem is occurring after it determines that you're using the Unicode version. Therefore the error is to do with Unicode and I'm certain it would be fixed if you are able to revert to standard MMF2. I've heard there are some issues with the Unicode version at the moment and this could be one of them. If you can, try building it through the standard MMF2, if the error occurs again but slightly further up in the code then it's an issue with one of your strings or text objects, but likely it's an error in the Unicode version which hasn't been dealt with yet.

    Thank you for your input DistantJ, much appreciated. I see that you are taking the opposite path, releasing a Flash version of Awesome Land isn't it? Did you know that it was your recent success with Awesome Land that finally convinced me to tackle the iOS games market?

    Unfortunately I can't revert back to non-unicode. When I began working on this improved version of CrazyCrab, I did it from scratch directly with MMF Unicode. And as everyone know, MMF standard can't open files saved by MMF unicode. BUT I have compiled to iOS and old version of CrazyCrab non-Unicode, and I was able to play the game in Xcode's Simulator. So you are right, Unicode is faulty.

    I'm sure CrazyCrab wouldn't be difficult to remake though? I would love to help :-P With a nice new graphical style and stuff.

    Thank you for the kind offer DistantJ. I may post about my progress in my blog here on the forums. About Unicode, I am sure that Super Andos will fix what's wrong. I'd like to keep working with Unicode because I wish to localize my future games in more languages, japanese notably.

    The app runs in Xcode with the beta3, thank you so much Clickteam!

    I just wanted to mention the warning thrown by MMF and the 2 warnings thrown by Xcode:
