ClickConverse (beta) - The new Clickteam Community chat client

THIS THREAD IS NOW LOCKED, PLEASE USE THE OTHER THREADS HERE FOR BUG REPORTS/SUGGESTIONS

The new chat client for the Clickteam Community is available at the following URL:

    http://community.clickteam.com/chat/ClickConverse.zip

You can log in using your username and password from the Community forum.

Please note that this is an open public beta test of the software, so there will almost certainly be some bugs! If you encounter any, please post a note here about what you found. If you right click on the settings icon (the gear symbol, top right) the client will upload a debug log which does not contain any personal details or any record of conversations to the Clickteam servers for analysis.

In due course this will be released for other platforms, including SWF/Flash.

I hope you all have as much fun using it as I have had making it!

    Enjoy!

    Update: 4th April, 2012

Build 101 has now been released. A full changelog is included in the zip as a text file and is also available from the "Open Window" button in the chat client.

This version also includes an auto-update tool so you will not have to re-download the client as a zip after this build, unless you really want to of course!

    Update: 25th March, 2012

    Absolutely spectacular! Well done.

Bug report (some have already been discussed, posting here so everyone is aware of them):

    - Developer icon won't show for me. Instead I get the Standard icon although I own both products
    - 'd "d 'D and "D all trigger the face

Feature Request/Coming soon (so I hear):
    - Auto login on arcade/community
    - more /commands
    - Ignore
    - Color coded names (different than text, eg <RickyRombo> as light gray, but the message be black)
    - Syntax highlighter (for scripts)
    - Connecting to MFA Repo
    - Auto Complete names on Tab

There may be more, it's late and I am forgetful!

    Thanks, much appreciated!

    - Emoticon bugs should be gone now hopefully, re-download the client.

Which /commands would people like to see? I can't promise they'll all make it in there but I'll add as many as I can.

    Excellent.

    Two notes:
The user highlight does not appear to work for me.
There is no way to reconnect if I disconnect. Normally I press ALT+FR to restart on Gwerdy, but this doesn't support that due to the lack of a menu.

Well, my antivirus injector crashed the program first time around. It seems the saving of password or whatever is causing it. It's my antivirus' fault for attempting to read a null address.
    I recommend a /reconnect command

Also, is the software "grading" the users by the most expensive product we bought? That seems offensive... I'd prefer a system where a /cmd revealed the products, since we don't need to know if they're using Dev or Std unless there's a Dev-only way for something.

    4 questions:

    1) Lacewing/Moo other network extension?
    2) Do you need built-in auto-updater? I hate - redownloading stuff, and I can provide you one proper one for Windows this evening.
    3) Is it backward compatible with Gwerdy if not what is going to happen with Gwerdy.
    4) Would the source be available or we will be forced to reverse engineer it like it was done with Gwerdy

    1) Lacewing
    3) This will supercede Gwerdy Chat
    4) Why would you be "forced" to reverse engineer it even if the source wasn't released? The client works fine, doesn't it?

    Thanks guys :-D

There is already an auto-update module, I just haven't enabled it yet for the first run :-)

Reconnect is possible but was causing a strange instability which I've looking into at the moment, so for now it is disabled in favour of a stable client.

The source will not be released, no. I'm not sure why you would need to reverse engineer anything?!

As for the "grading" as you put it... The chat is about providing support to users, as well as the community aspect. The badge is displayed as highest level product registered so we can all see at a glance what people are using, to help us give support. This is not going to be changed.

I added in /me's support as you requested Phi :-)
