    Review/Rating Begging

So Ive got this idea gang.....

Ive seen some apps out there encourage users to leave ratings and reviews in the app store. They do this via popups that request the user leave positive feedback. There are actually libraries out there that you can include in your ObjC code to automatically take care of this.

This seems like it could be an easy widget to implement in MMF.

One idea is to ONLY do this to users after they have launched the app more than a few times. My thoughts are that these users are likely the ones that like the game enough to play it several times. Its a bad idea to sollicit feedback from users who only play once. Furthermore, it may be best to only ask users who play it very frequently over a short period of time.

I suppose an easy way is to store an INI on the device with some count, but what Im wondering is if something more sophisticated could be done.

Any of you doing anything like this? Furthermore, any of you have any particular features in mind for such a widget?

So far I planned to send the user to the Appstore page with a self-made button and set a marker in an ini if the user clicks, hoping he really leaves a rating.

Ah, but no timer? It would pop up on the first runthrough of the game?

I do this currently by offering a "Rate It" button when the player loses as part of the options (ie Restart, Menu, Rate It). It seemed to bump up my rating totals

I'll ask for a review when the player is in good mood and ready for a short break, after completing a set of levels or so

You can open up the App Store by just using the iOS object to open up a link to it - you can either use the http:// address that you see in iTunes Connect, or itms-apps://itunes.com/app/appname (I can't remember the exact details of that second method...)

@DTownTony, Im not sure if asking for a rating after the player loses is a good idea. If they lose and are very frustrated, they might give you a bad rating.

Im hoping to find a specific way to target only the users who really like the game, and play it very often.

Can you offer in-game items in exchange for reviews? When does this cross the line into bribery?
