Not yet...
Using Lacewing (not yet available for IOS) we will eventually be able to interact with other devices. I for one and anxiously awaiting this eventuality!

Yes, Lacewing will be able to do this (through a server).
The Game Center objects can also do some device-device communication.
Does the Game Center object do direct device-device communication or is it via apple's servers?
You can also try by Get Object and PHP but it would be laggy.
