Player name in hi-score table with arrow keys and ctrl key (MMF2 develop)

    I'm programming a coin-op game style 80s with MMF2.

Is there a code to insert the name of the player with the arrow keys right and left for letter, and ctrl key for decide; instead with the window cascade?

NOTE: if I insert hi-score object; it gaves an error on game builted and it doesn't work on windows 7! But i would like an hi-score table as mentioned above for game '80 style purpose!

    In this way, for example:

Do you understand what I mean?

Ok, please post it if you will do it. This is a test to adapt TGF or MMF2 games in arcade cabinets with Jamma SD plug (J-Pac interface).

To make it complete, I would like a code to enter the name of Hi score as mentioned above ;-).

The game is at 640x480 resolution (the best resolution for old jamma monitors!)

WOW. Many thanks . You were really quick. Now I have to learn how to copy and paste your code in my game. It will be hard, but I think I'll make it. Here is the progress of my "COCKTAIL ARCADE GAME" in open source:

So I have no intention of selling it and having the exclusive, because the genre is obsolete and this is just a hobby.

Instruction: Left and right arrows= move spaceship; ctrl key= fire; shift key= barrier; key 1=start game; key 5= virtual coin! key 9= service mode!

    Cheers Jeff

@Daryus: I have simplified certain aspects of the code, plus you can now backspace a character. The download link is the same. I made this example to be easily implemented into any game. Simply copy Frame 2 and paste it into your project. When you want to submit a score, set Global Value A (which I renamed Last Score) to that score, jump frame and everything will be done for you.

Cheers Pookasnooks. I've re-uploaded it with a variable that changes the name length. The link is the same.

Oh! I understand. I have to raplace your [number of ship= 0; enemy=0 -> set Global Value A ("counter")]... with my [number of lives=0 -> set Global Value A....].

NOTE: But we do not get crazy! I simply would like to make a nice and collaborative this my arcade cocktail project! When I get home, I upload my work in progress again!

However, your code is really great! COMPLIMENTS!

I know the ones you mean, but like you said, that won't save it nor will it shift down the lower extra characters. Check the new version, a few sneaky loops in there.
