    Spaceship movement left and right trought bouncing ball movement instead 8 direction?

    I'm programming 80s style shoot'em up game.

    I'd use eight direction excluding upright downright upleft and downleft (like Space Invaders cannon!).

    But I prefer bouncing ball movement (only left and right) so I can choose keyobard keys what i want.

    But in bouncing ball movement I can use maximum decelleration only, and spaceship remains stop on left and right key pression.

    Is there a method to use maximum accelleration and decelleration like eight direction movement?

    For a simple movement like this, you shold really create your own costom movement.
    This way you can create your own accel/ max accel and stuff.
    That way you could also have the Object move at Floating point speeds wich looks and feels really nice.

    I was able do it with The Game Factory (It would be same Multimedia Fusion2, but I'm missing something ).

    CODE:
    Create a active object (bouncing ball movement) and a counter named "movement counter".

    Movement of active object: speed=50; acceleration=0

    Events:
    Always= active object= movement stop
    Repeat while "right arrow" is pressed= active object-> set diection right; "movement counter"=set counter 1
    Repeat while "left arrow" is pressed= active object-> set diection left; "movement counter"=set counter 1
    "movement counter"=1-> active object=movement start
    "movement counter"=1->"movement couter"=set 0

    (What I missing?! ).

    Ok, I resolved!

    See in the event editor, relative events of movement counter (counter is light gray):
