    When do Samples play?

    At what point in the Event Editor do Samples play?
    For immediat events ( red Events, like the 'user clicks with left mouse button on Object' ), do samples Play right away?

    From my understanding, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but MMF2 executes events in the order in which they are in the event editor, from top to bottom, with actions in each event being executed in the order by which they are listed in the action editor, also from top to bottom.

    Event driven conditions (red text events) happen right when they are called. It does not matter where they are in the Event Editor.

    For example, you can have a "start of frame" event at the end of your event list changing the master volume to 20, and once the application starts the master volume will be set to 20 because that condition is a "red text event".

    Hope that helps.

    Lets say i have

    - Start of frame
    --> Play Sample "Music01"

    then i have 200 Events

    At the very bottom of the Event Editor i have
    - Allways
    --> Set Volum of "Music01" to 25

    ...
    If Samples are Played right away it seems logical that, in this scenario, the Music will play loudly for a very short time and then Play at low volume after that right?

    I see where you are going with this and it seems logical to think that way.

    I'm almost sure that an always is treated like a "red text event" somewhat. I would say testing it would be your best bet on finding out whether it makes a difference.

    Though my guess is that the always will take priority in the way the events are executed since it is an event that is well "always" executed.

    Also depends on the format, I have noticed that in Flash there's a very little delay when a sample is played. A Jump or shoot sound is a bit delayed, something that's not happening on the EXE version. Just a fraction of a second, not big deal, I think you can't do anything about it to make it better.

    Always events are not executed first. They are the same as any other event and are executed when MMF2 reads that particular event.

    It would play loudly for like a single frame in that second. It would either change the volume before the frame updated so you wouldn't notice anything or it would have a slight moment where the sound is blasted. I can't remember which.
