    Beta 4

    Hi everyone,

    Beta #4 of the HTML5 exporter is available :

    English
    French
    Japanese

    Warning!
    The installer of this beta deletes the Android runtime from your machine. This will not be the case in beta 6 (beta 5 will still have the same problem).

    Fixes in this version :

    - Final project build type now works in Internet Explorer
    - Sounds a Start of frame event made the application crash
    - Platform movement object : all of the expressions crashed.
    - Sound only played once on certain browsers
    - Counters did not repect the display formatting flags
    - Date & Time object : various causes of crash removed
    - Crash in Mouse Click condition
    - Button object : disable at start property had not effect
    - Sounds : the application used to crash if a sound with a sound format not supported by the browser was included in the application
    - Sub application crashed on entry
    - Controls are now properly centered in a sub application
    - Multiple crashes in Advanced Path Movement object
    - Mixing floating point and integers in a calculation returned wrong results (usually round to an integer)
    - Mouse click condition did not work. More generally, problems with mouse clicks
    - The cursor went into text mode when dragging something with the mouse
    - Multiple causes of crash with backdrop objects set as platform, corrected
    - A background object set as platform had no effect on collisions


    Please note :

    - Please do not test the picture object, it is still not complete
    - Please note that a large zooming of small bitmaps results in a transparent image (such as zooming one pixel 100 times). This will be in the difference file of the documentation.



    Note for testers :

    - If the browser reports you the name of the file and a line number where the runtime crashes, please include it in your post on the forum
    - Please post, or send me a PM with a link to the MFA showing the bug. I cannot usually recreate bugs you only describe (or only for very simple bugs)
    - There was a mistake in the case of the name of some of the movement extensions in previous versions, preventing them from working. The pinball movement and spaceship movement should be found as "pinball.js" and "spaceship.js", without capital. If these movements do not work with beta 4, delete the files and re-install beta 4.

    Fixes in beta 3 :

    - An explicit message is now displayed when you drag and drop the html file of a HTML5 project directly on a browser
    - Several calls in animations were missing the this. pointer, resulting in animations crashing at various points in the program
    - Global active objects, global counters or global strings were crashing the runtime on a frame change
    - All the masks were not created by MMF2 when building the application, resulting in wrong collisions or mouseclick detection
    - Crash when activativing/disabling a group of events
    - INI object : crash when changing the name of the INI file
    - Layer object : Sort by alterable value down was not working
    - Active object : Set semi transparency crashed
    - Quick backdrops set as obstacle could crash the runtime later
    - Jump to a non existant frame does not exit the application anymore, but stays in the current frame (which is restarted)
    - Activating / deactivating a group of event crashed
    - Pinball movement was not created at all, the objects were static
    - Object collision, or click on an object could crash if the program contained global events
    - Setting the scale of an active object to a very small value caused all other active objects to be disappear
    - val(0xFF) (or any hexadecimal number) returned 0
    - Various bugs in collision detection resulting in collision not being detected where the should
    - Crash and incorrect returns of functions in String Tokeniser object
    - Division was sometimes performed in integer mode when the numbers were floating point values
    - Active Backdrop set X and set Y position crashed
    - Crash in Advanced Path Movement
    - Is sound playing was never false
    - InAndOut, SpaceShip and Pinball movements did not work (objects were static)
    - Crash in Hiscore object
    - Crash when doing Set Direction on an object that was playing the disappearing animation
    - Some crashes prevented object creation with the launch action
    - Rotated active objects were rotated in the wrong direction
    - Added a protection against crashes in animations
    - Combo box, Get line crashed
    - Various sources of crashes in Edit and Combo box objects
    - Changing the font now works in Edit, List and Combo objects
    - Button object, changing the text of the button used to crash
    - Direction calculator, many sources of crash removed
    - A division by zero now returns 0, as in the C++ runtime

    Thanks Francois for all these changes, now I'm going to try my engines and I commented in the Forum, as well as of Date & Time, BTW in the exporter of Android is also no errors on this object, I'm going to report to James.

    BTW François, yesterday I realized that after you have installed the Beta 4, Android Exporter deleted, went to install the latter and I am under the version to 256.3 to 256.10 that was. Not is whether to install the HTML5, because I need to do some tests on Android.

    Yes that happens to me also but I don't think it can get fixed until Yves comes back.

    Ha, don't worry François, when Yves will fix that, while if we want Android must install the exporter and vice versa.

    OK guys. Yves is back, I am working on a new beta.
    I (well, Yves) will publish it soon...
    btw, it happens that the Android de-installation problem was no de-installation at all. It was just bad luck : the expiration date of the Android runtime just fell out to be the day I published the last beta. So the Android options were not available just after the installation of the HTML5 beta, but it had nothing to do with it. A lot of stress for nothing.
    I will make sure betas are posted more often in the future (I had some house projects to work on). We really have to move forward as fast as possible.

    The installer of the Japanese version is working odd behaviour.
    I've pressed the NEXT button at registration style selection screen but next screen will be offline registration screen (online registration screen not show.).
