Thread: I managed to seriously brake the .swf version

    I managed to seriously brake the .swf version

    Take a look at this picture:

    What happened, after playing a while, some shaped area near the topright got objects stuck into it (like when a windows program crashes and always pastes whatever is above into it), and then all the events just went mad, some create-object events got stuck in a loop etc.
    It has never happened with the .exe version, so it must be something flash specific.

    Is this a one time bug thing?

    I have recently experienced some unique and unlogical bug situations when exporting and running an SWF app.
    My events seemed to behave differently and some didnt work at all.
    If it closed the SWF app and reopened it again everythign worked just fine.
    This never happened again.

    This happened on the first test after i posted the game on fgl (if you have community level 1+ you can find it here: https://www.fgl.com/view_game.php?game_id=25500)
    So i was really worried, but i played through one or two times more and it didn't happen, so yes it's probably one of those one time bug things

    edit: nope.. i made it happen again it's probably a problem with too many objects.. perhaps over the lifespan of a frame if old objects aren't removed properly?

    I managed to seriously brake the .swf version

    Increase the object limit in the frame in question to see if it fixes it.

    it is set very high, and shouldn't be necessary..

    I am going to bump this post, because i am still having issues with this.
    It must be something wrong with the garbage collector, causing games with a heavy amount of active object creation to crash after a while? i wonder if it even sticks between frames, because i tried to change frame less than every 10 minutes, but it still happens.

    It looks like a crash in ActionScript. When a crash occurs, the program carries on working on one foot, giving strange results.
    Please send me you application and all the objects used in your game that are not present in the published version of MMF.
    Please also tell me what to do to get the crash..
