path - I think the Layer Object has actions for sorting object order by Y value.

AyerGuitar is right, there should be "put object A in front of object B" event in there somewhere under the layer object actions, I know I've used it before.

Order objects based on Y coord using Layer Object

Well, I was thinking of something more general using the Layer object. It can Order all objects based on Y coordinate (or X for that matter).
Should make it easier to depth sort all the characters in the game with a single event. I've attached a simple example (requires Layer object).
