Detect if a .bat file is running

Is it possible to detect if a .bat file is running?
For example, I want to create a small program that detects if someone has run a .bat file and log the activity.

Yeah, I had a try with that and must admit it went a bit over my head .
My experience lies with making guys jump on platforms lol.

If someone could be so kind as to rustle up an example, I'd be extremely grateful .

You could detect this a number of ways, however you will only be able to retrieve an expression for \windows\system32\cmd.exe as batch files are processed from the command prompt.

You would have a VERY difficult time latching onto a running CMD window and retrieving the output, however, not impossible I would've thought.

What is the purpose of this may I ask? It could give a better indication for a better method...

A friend works as an IT guy in a school and kids are messing around with .bat files.
He's trying to log when people run them and asked if it's something you could do in MMF2.
He's wanting to make a smal app that sits in the tray.

Yes, this is an easy route around the Executable block for LAN setups. I used to do it myself (15 years ago) lol... things were alot different then though!

No need for an app that sits in the tray, just block cmd.exe from running and that should solve the issues. Alternatively, if he is having issues blocking cmd.exe from running (I assume there could be network scripts to run?) then you could make him a simple app that sits in the tray AFTER the network scripts have been called which then detects cmd.exe and you could intercept and instaclose it.
