Question HD scaled down looks jagged

    Hello,

I'm trying to make a program in HD resolution that also looks good scaled down, but so far without succes
I've attached an example that might help to explain what I mean.
My background is an active object, size 1920x1080. In fullscreen on my laptop (1600x900) it shows jagged edges, and also in windowed mode (845x480).
I have the option 'keep screen ratio' ticked on.
I can't use a smaller size then HD, since its goal is to also be displayed on HDTV.
I've seen other games manage this but I can't get it work with MMF2

Is there a way to keep the smoothness of the image the same on my HDTV, laptop fullscreen and windowed mode?

okay, I've changed the setup of the file, and made it in a lower resolution.
My image is now 1366x768, with the windowed mode at 1280x720.
The picture looks good in MMF2, but is still jagged in exe, both in fullscreen and windowed mode.
What am I missing here? Is this possible at all?

I've uploaded the changed file so you can take a look at it :

    oops, sorry about that.
I've uploaded the mfa with included external file. In case it's still missing I've uploaded the missing image file too.

Thank you for taking a look at it

    My progress so far :

I have managed to get rid of the jagged edges, but now the screen is displaced at runtime and windowed mode gets stuck at the top the screen, without a window
The full screen-windowed switch did work before, but with the jagged edges I mentioned in previous posts.
Atm it seems I can get 'fullscreen-windowed-mode-with-jagged-edges' , OR the 'no-more-jagged-edges-but-your-screen-is-displaced'.

I'd really like to get the best of both. Is this possible at all? Anyone got this to work?

here's the mfa with the displaced fullscreen:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm slowly getting to the point where I just want to quit MMF2 (wich I thought would never be the case). This screen-issue is jeopardizing a project I'm very eager to work on. If this can't be done in MMF2, I'll have to start looking for another program, and start from scratch :p I don't want to do this, 'cause I'm quite comfy using mmf2 for a couple of years now.

I've uploaded the 'displaced-fullscreen-and-no-window-on-windowed-mode'-file to my own website. If you don't have acces to mmf2, I've added the exe-file too, so you can take a look at what I mean by 'displacement'.

If you don't feel like downloading anything, I've made some screenshots showing the problem:

Here you can see how it looks in fullscreen mode. Notice how there's a white edge on the bottom and to the right

Here you can see how it looks in windowed mode. The screen is stuck to the upper-left corner, and has no window at all.

I really hope it's a problem that can be fixed. But even if it's not possible at all, I'd really like to know.

    Any help is GREATLY appreciated.!!

The issue here is that 'antialiasing when resizing' is greyed out (for some reason) in Standard. I set it to D3D9 and it becomes usable. Also I wouldn't use ultimate fullscreen for what you're trying to do here. Hope this is what you were after:

EDIT: For some reason I used maximize and restore from the window object, but you can use MMF's fullscreen/windowed modes as well:
