Question Every 10 seconds random speed between 2 and 10 (how?)

How do I code that with an active in the event editor? at every 10 seconds have the active pick a random speed between 2 and 10? (do I need any extension?) thanks

    That's not it though

For random 2-10, the equation would be Random(9)+2.

It sounds weird but remember MMF is counting 0 as the starting point in that range, so it will choose 1out of 9 numbers in a range from 0-8. So you add 2 at the end which will make it 2-10.

Depending on how random you want it you may want to use a seeded RNG. Random(x) isn't so random as it's not seeded. So you'll quite often see the same repeated numbers over and over. There's a random number extension that will give you a closer random number then using "random(x)".

Wait, could not Random(9)+2 produce the number 11? Random(8)+2 would be the right formula?

Or wait no.. maybe I am confusing myself now.. :P Yeah Random(9)+2 should be right
