    Strafing and shooting?

    So my player has this special movement that allows him to strafe. The direction strafing is great, however shooting doesn't coordinate with strafing.

    I have it so that if you:

    Hold [Ctrl]
    Player direction ->

    =

    Set EastVar to 1.

    &

    x Hold [Ctrl]
    x Player direction ->

    =

    Set EastVar to 0.

    When EastVar is set to 1, it permanently sets the player's direction to the right. However, the shooting isn't coordinating with it.

    Help please?

    You want 8 directional movement, and the ability to hold a Button to lock the Animation/ Shooting Direction ( not movement direction )?
    Are you using a built in movement?

    It's hard to know what's going on without seeing your file but if the shooting isn't working, apparently you aren't setting up events to change the direction of the shooting with EastVar set to 1? If the player's direction is set to right, all you'd need to do is have the shooting direction set to right as well. Otherwise you'll need to post an example.

    Here is an example.

    - Its an 8-directional movement
    - Use WASD to move
    - Press Left Mouse Button to shoot
    - Hold Right Mouse Button to "lock" to the direction you are currently facing

    In this example, the Characters 'direction' is the Characters 'moving direction', and 'angle' is the Characters 'facing direction/ angle'
