Ordering backdrops in front of actives?

I have a platform object based game, with a 640x480 frame, and a 15000x4500 virtual frame. I need a background to stay in place, so I turned it into a active.

The character launches himself off of a platform, which happens to be a backdrop, so that the platform object works.

But, you can't see the platform because the active, no matter what I do, is in front.

I need in some way for the above scenario to work!

    Please help!

You can have the stay-in-place backdrop on a non-scrolling layer behind the main layer

I've been trying to have the backdrop not follow the frame, but the only way I know how to do this is with actives...

How would I do a non scrolling layer thingy?

It isn't working... I have no clue why though...

I copied the non-scrolling background, which works in your example, into my game, where for some unexplainable reason, it scrolls anyway!

    Please help!

The non-scrolling background is on layer 1, and everything else is on layer 2.

XStar, are you using layers at all? Press Ctrl + K to bring up the Layer toolbar. Then click the Plus-icon to insert a new layer. Click on Layer 1 and set the x and y coefficients to 0. Finally put the backdrop in Layer 1. Run the game and it should be working!
