Launch default web browser and access URL

Is there an object that allows us, in standalone applications, to launch the default web browser to access URLs?

So far I was using the Vitalize Plugin! object. But since I've changed the .php file association on my machine to open with a specific program, the Vitalize Plugin! object opens the said program as well as the default web browser.
In fact the Open URL function of the Vitalize Plugin! object seems to act like an Open File function. It lets Windows open the program associated with any .htm/.php/.asp etc.. extension. That's a bad behaviour according to me.

Everybody here, including me, always thought that the Vitalize Plugin! object's Open URL function opened the default web browser. But that's just false, in standalone applications at least.

    What OS are you running?

I have Widows XP and have PHP files registered to Dreamweaver.
When I use the Vitalize plug in and tell them to open in a new windows they open in my web browser.

In an MMF2 created EXE so I wonder why yours is operating differently .. very odd.

I'm currently adding a function for opening and use default web browser. This new function will be in a new version of File-Folder object.

    That's great news Sphax!

Jeff, after further testing the problem seems to happen only when the default browser is Firefox and when it is closed.
It doesnt' happen when a Firefox session is already open. And it doesn't happen at all when Internet Explorer is the default browser.

I've made my tests on 2 XP systems both running the latest FireFox. One system runs IE6.0 with .php files associated to NotePad++, the other system runs IE7.0 with php files associated to Dreamweaver.

    That's done.
Sphax File Folder is in version 1.5 now.
I'll release this new version soon with a Sphax extension pack.
