    AVI Problem

Whenever I placean AVI inside my game it:

    A) Is grey on the Frame editor (It might be supposed to do this)
    B) Displays an "MCI Error" message when I run the game.

It says I should go to the control panel and select Pri... to install some sort of wave device but it is cut off and there is nothing I can do to read the measage. Can anybody help me or at let tell me what the notice is supposed to read?
    Thanks!

    Re: AVI Problem

When you say you place an AVI in your game, I take it you mean you are using the AVI Obejct? I don't use this to play my AVI's, I use the Directshow Object, but when I place this in my games, it does indeed appear as a grey box, the AVI isn't displayed till you run the game.

As for the error message... Hard to say why this is happening without seeing the whole message. Does you AVI play outside of TGF? If so, try using the Directshow Object instead of the AVI object to play your movie and see if that resolves it.

Oh, I don't know. I thought TGF 2 and MMF 2 were one and the same in regards to their base objects. Can someone confirm if the Directshow Object is part of TGF 2 or is it just an MMF 2 object?

    Thanks, Ravenius.

Toffeandpebbles, looks like you'll have to go with the AVI object. Can you play your AVI outside of MMF 2? If not, then it's a codec problem most likely. If the AVI is your creation, I would recommend converting it to a WMV file so as to get around the codec problem, the only thing is, I'm not sure if the AVI object will play a WMV file.
