How can I make a pause menu?

I have created everything in my game using tutorials and its been going great.

What I'm trying to do now is make a pause menu that can:

go to an inventory screen(haven't made inventory screen yet)
go to an interactive map(which is in development.)
pause the game( I assume its just pause application but I may be wrong)
and have a custom appearance.

Hi HoldenAA. I have a sub-application example on my website that pauses the game. You should be able to exapand on this with more sub-applications. Inventory and the map.

i always use groups - and deactive/active what you want from there
