    Importing palettes

OK here's something... I often import .gif images as palette files when developing in MMF so I can use my own colour swatch. But whenever I import an image, I usually get a whole mess of colours in no particular order.

    This sort of image:

If at all possible I'd like to be able to import a .gif file where the colours are ordered the way they were in the image - greens together, reds together, that kind of thing, but whenever I import a palette I find it tends to be all over the place... Is there anything I can do with an image file to try to get it to import right?

Which image are you trying to import? The first or the second? Or both? Are either of those what MMF2 is showing to you as the palette when you import the image?

MMF2 ignores the actual content of the BMP or GIF you import the palette from. It's the image's color palette MMF2 is concerned with, and you'll have to find a program that modifies it.
Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

Aha! So I could re-sort the palette in Photoshop when saving it as a GIF...

EDIT: Nope... Colours are still all over the place. How do I re-order a palette??

I can vouch for this that MMF2 only looks at the palette of the image itself and not the actual image. I ran into this same problem when I loaded an NES palette into MMF2 and the colors were disorganized. I had to reorder the palette manually with a program like iDraw3 which took forever to do... I don't know of any program that automates the process.

    Custom Palette:
Export you palette as a .png (or other format) with colors arranged as you like. Import into MMF2 as an object. Whenever you need a color, just edit the object and use the color picker to get the color.
