    Rotating camera

    Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum and was wondering if anybody has any tips (if it's possible) on rotating the camera? Basically on a game I'm currently working in there are sections where you view a spaceship from the top and I'd like that to be in a fixed position on the screen whilst the galaxy moves around it if you get me?

If it's not possible I guess I'll have to have the spaceship as a static object and move everything else!

    Thanks
    Tx

So you mean there are sections where the ship is let's say always facing up and when you turn the galaxy and all other objects rotate the same way?

I'm not sure how that would work exactly, probably have to do with setting all those object's hotspots to dead center for rotating purposes. Otherwise your objects would rotate on an axis at the upper left-hand corner and would look weird.

If I understood your question correctly, with MMF2 you would probably have to do a complicated algorithm that sets the X and Y coordinates of everything when the ship rotates.

This can easily be done in HWA via rotation shader.

HWA is a display mode that stands for Hardware Acceleration.
