    Arrow MMF2 and Avast.

    hi.
I use with a lot of satisfaction MMF2 since three years.
I also bought the Swf Exporter.
A few days ago, I upgraded my Avast antivirus, free version.
Now, every time I launch MMF2, Avast stops the execution and informs me that the program can only be run in the SANDBOX because it is potentially harmful.
I confirm on ACCEPT and everything works, but it is very annoying.
Does anyone have my same problem?
    Alex

I know apps created with MMF have a tendency to trigger AV software when the option of "Compress runtime" is checked. I've never had an AV detect MMF itself and I used to use Avast about a year or so ago.

    Thanks for your reply.
But Avast stops me the program when I launch the executable of MMF2, not if I launch an app created with it!
I hope I have explained well with my English which is not exactly perfect.

This is odd... Well my advice would be to submit an error report to Avast to let them know that MMF2 is not dangerous software... Once it gets flagged, the only way to fix it is to just report that it's a false warning. Either that, or get a different antivirus program.

unfortunately I'm unable to reproduce the issue you are having. I'm using MMF2 Developer. I just downloaded and installed the latest version of Avast. Program file and definitions are up to date. I have even manually scanned MMF2.exe with Avast and it said that no threats were detected. Try checking again to see if you are running the most up to date version of the program as well as latest virus definitions.

You can try submitting your MMF2.exe to http://www.virustotal.com. It will scan the file against the definitions of multiple AV software.

As a workaround for now, you could consider "blacklisting" or creating an "exception" for the MMF2 Program Files folder so that Avast doesn't try scanning MMF2 in future, if Avast has this feature.

I can confirm I got this issue with Avast! so I just excluded it from the sandbox list, sometimes it would ignore my excluded list and still prompt me so I just disabled that particular protection whilst using MMF2.

I have had the same problem now and then with Avast. I exclude MMF in Avast settings and sometimes that works and sometimes not. The best way is to disconnect from internet, Turn off Avast and start MMF. After that you can run Avast and internet again. Irritating workaround I know but it works.

The more people who can complain to Avast and other anti-virus makers when their products are producing false positives the faster they will fix it.

I get upset with these anti-virus companies because they do this over and over -- even after we have been in contact with their teams and gotten them to fix the problem last time. I wonder if they have any quality control or not. It also makes me highly skeptical if a lot of these products actually protect people or not.
