    Game Paused and Options Menu

    What would be the best way of doing this?

    So when you are playing the game, with lots of enemies and objects, you click on an object to make a pause.
    Then you access to a menu where you can click on a few options.
    After restore the pause you get back to the game the same at the same point when you paused.

    I don't think you can do this with "pause of application"
    and I find out very difficult going around all objects, stop them right in that moment and actually be able to "freeze" the game and interact with the menu.

    Group all your events that control the game into one group called 'Game'.

    Toggle a flag for pause:

    Flag=On:
    Deactivate Game Group
    Activate Pause Group

    Inside your pause group just show a layer (top layer) like Layer 4 (with an unpause button that unpauses )

    Flag=Off:
    Deactivate Pause Group
    Activate Game Group

    Thanks Danny. I got that, but some objects, launched object, path movements, they do not stop simply by deactivating the group.

    Although I think I am nearly there. Would be nice something like "pause application", but with a few options to set it up

    Hey Crls,

    We all have the same issue with this routine, you simply just do on the flagon and flagoff:
    Stop Movement
    Start Movement as per event.

    It works but only if the movement is a path. If it is launched or activated an animation before deactivate the group it wont stop until finish.
