    Ugh. Yes, the solution is to create a scrollbar for the edit box. It's not impossible, you can do it - you just have to use the examples that I linked to previously.

    I don't know what you mean in your last sentence, sorry.

    Gam_master i was writing, i dont want to spent days or hour to learn how to do a scrollbar, this is a BASIC function wo need to be implemanted in the text editor.

    Why its so hard to do a SIMPLE text editor??? dont tell me it's something to take MONTHS to be developed, i can't believe that.

    the scrollbar dont need to be a "BONUS", why that dont come-work with the editbox....

    Okay, well then I guess you won't be able to make the editor that you want; you don't want to put the effort in.

    Ah well.

    I have made you a self-contained flash scrollbar as an "MMF widget". This consists of two objects (both are active system boxes):

    * slider
    * background box

    There are various properties which you can set on the slider by changing its alterable values. These are all named so you can understand what they do.

    The only one you don't set manually is "slider_currentvalue" - this value contains the current value of the slider at rest and as you are moving it up and down. In the example I have included a counter which is always set to "slider_currentvalue".

    So long as you have these two objects together in a frame, they will work as a scrollbar. If you want multiple scrollbars, you will need to rename the two objects. To save having to go into all of the expressions, I suggest you paste them into a blank frame and rename them there, then paste them as newly renamed objects into the original frame.

    Please note that all of the events which control this are in a behaviour of the slider object.

    You can view the example here online as an SWF:

    Well you have to look at the edit box object and explore the options here, it's all part of the learning

    Look under the "Editing" -> "Scrolling" options on the edit box...

    I was trying to get you to think about the edit objects' actions and properties and work out how to do it yourself It's important to learn and try to understand how things work and interact... anyway...

    Reload the example, I put the edit box in there for you.

    Note that for the slider object, when it is being scrolled by the user, Flag 0 will switch on. This is how you detect that the bar is scrolling.
