j3sseM - your alpha PNG will need to use colours greater then 0 (black) for it to have a noticeable effect, since it subtracts that value from the colours behind it. Try it with a white alpha PNG set to subtract to get it to make things darker.

    Thanks for reply AyreGuitar.

I tried with a white circle, but it does not work.
Here is how I try it:

I make two layers, in bottom layer I have a picture which I would like to reveal with lightspot.

Layer above I got 100% black box which hides everything under it.
Same layer, but on the black box I have white alpha circle.
Then I make condition, Always - Set layer effect "substract" (this for white alpha circle)
But it does not substract from black box layer at all.

I have tried with dx8 and dx9 but can't get this to work.

Any suggestions? It would be freaking amazing if I could somehow substract alpha images from the black layer.

    Hi highjack24,
    Thanks for reply!

"NOTE: If you currently do not have a registered version of Multimedia Fusion 2 Standard or Developer, please exit this installer now. Unregistered users are prohibited from installing or using these extensions in any way, including, but not limited to, freeware, shareware, or commercial applications. "
    - extensions installer says this.

I'm using trial version, really wish I could have checked that extension out. A real shame I can't try that out. Still stuck with the lightning system it seems.
Can't plan my game much further until I know what I can do with the software.

Any other suggestions? Or a good video-demo how the system highjack24 mentioned works?

    - Jesse

You don't need any extensions - http://www.sketchy.co.nf (see "Darkness / Spotlight Effect" example).
And as always, save yourself a lot of time by searching before posting (this is not the first time I've posted that example).

    Whoa! You saved my day!
Still gotta admit I spend quite some time figuring why does it work. Only now I figured that you can use effects in actual layers!

So from the beginning I was on the right track.
And next time I'll spend more time with forum search.

But yeah can't thank you enough, but here it goes: Thanks!
