Hi everyone! I've figured out a way to make a Mode 7-like effect using HWA! I used Looki's Lens Shader to do it. It requires that shader. You should go ahead and download the shader if you plan on opening this file.
Features:
Mode 7-like effect in HWA.
Scrolling.
Unlike Mode 7 EX, it isn't laggy!

Mode 7 EX comes with some examples. I'll modify (mainly change it to use HWA, but also changing a few of the settings and stuff) one of them and upload it for comparison in a moment...
EDIT: Okay! I finished modifying the example. Only the first frame is similar to the original example file (the file I modified), the second frame is similar to the example using the lens shader.
Yeah, the moving around is what's important. Mode 7 EX ins't updating when you aren't moving. At least, I think that's the way it works...
If anyone here is willing to take up the challenge of adding sprites to this, feel free to do it. Just make sure to upload the new version here.
