"Rendertarget ping/pong" and "Pixel shaders" Can TGF2 do this?

Hello! So im making a platformer game that is similar to the game Bloody Trapland. I have hit a snag with my game. Right now im trying to program the character to have blood splatter that will stick to the terrain, drip down, and dry up. The creator of Bloody Trapland I was talking to and he mentioned "rendertarget ping/pong" and "pixel shaders". I was wondering if The Games Factory 2 can do this?

Pixel shaders are supported by TGF2, MMF2, and MMF2DEV (via HWA (HardWare Acceleration)). I don't understand the first one, though, so I don't know if TGF2, MMF2, or even MMF2DEV support it. Pixel shaders and clever coding could be enough to do what you want, though.

Where you installed TGF2, do you have an effects folder? If so just put the .fx and .xml for the shader in that folder.

No. I already looked to see if I had an effects folder. Would it work if I just made one?

    No, that would not work.

Update to the latest version of TGF2. You won't have an effects folder without it.

Well that sucks! I have the Goodheart Wilcox curriculum version so I can't update. It's times like this I wish I wasn't broke so I could get the full version with everything haha

Oh, the version you have doesn't let you update? That's really a shame. Oh well. I guess you'll need to find another way to do it...
