INI save file deleted after Appstore Update?

    Hi guys

Is there something i need to do, to save the states of my game (for example the personal highscore, the level you unlocked,...) permanently.
When for example an update of my fictional game is realeased on the app store - the ini file is new and has no save files for hichscores, levels,..., right?
Is there a way to save the ini file permanently for my app somehow?

    best

    Jot

The INI file would not be lost between updates, but would not be saved across devices. To do this you would need to implement iCloud support.

Basically, if a user deletes the app from their device and redownloads it, the ini will be lost. If they overwrite the existing app, the ini is preserved. Since updates are only overwriting the app, the ini will be fine.

Just wondering if anyone knows how to handle updates in the Flash exporter without losing INI data. Every time I upload a new SWF, even if it has the same filename, it uses a new INI file.

I thought the Ini data was saved as a cookie somewhere. But I haven't worked with swf files in a while so something may have changed in the exporter

In the other thread, FVivolo also said that the data is saved as a cookie, but the cookie expires when the SWF file is re-downloaded again (which apparently happens when a new version is uploaded). I wonder if there's a way to upload a new file without making the cookie expire? In other words, have the new SWF continue using the old cookie?

It would be a nice feature to be able to copy the data from the old cookie to the new one. I thought the cookie was created and named based on the swf name, so maybe this is an automated Flash feature. If not, this would be a great request to put n the bug tracker.

If it's based on the SWF name, it must still get replaced by a new cookie with the same name, because I tried uploading an update with the same filename and it still didn't preserve the save data.

Good idea. I put a request in here: http://bugbox.clickteam.com/issues/2219
