    Destroyed enemy vanishing, not playing "disappearing" animation

    One of my enemies is vanishing when an event causes it to be destroyed, rather than playing the "disappearing" animation like all the other enemies do. It does have a rather lengthy "disappearing" animation (22 frames), but that's the only significant difference.

    The event that causes enemies to disappear is simply

    Alterable Value of "Group.Enemies" <=0
    then
    Destroy "Group.Enemies"

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Can you post a stripped down mfa of your issue?

    In paring down the mfa for posting, I discovered the problem.

    The active object was set so that if it was at a particular X coordinate, and neither the "attacking" animation nor the "bouncing" animation (used to make enemies flash when hit by a projectile) was playing, the enemy's animation should change to the "attacking" animation- and I neglected to add a line to prevent it from trying to change animations if its "HP" internal variable was less than one. Adding that line seems to have resolved the problem.

    Still, paring things down did help me isolate the error, so indirectly- thanks!

    the reason all of them disappear at once is because you have them in a group.

    that would work if every enemy was identical or had the same animations.

    do test and try the collisions with individual characters see if you have the same problem.

    Maybe you shouldn't use this pre-animations that MMF2 offers you.

    You will discover that you will have way more freedom by creating your own animations and activating then using Alterable Values.

    I have yet to hear of anyone say such a thing in the past. It may give you more "freedom", but it is too complicated to be worth it (I don't think that even Nifflas does that).
