Hello,
Is it possible to install apps to external storage ?
Thanks
In Properties -> Android Options you have the "Build & Run: intall" parameters "Internal Storage" or "SD Card".
Width "SD Card" parameter the app will install in the SD
I have noticed on my Galaxy Note 2 it doesn't allow me to put ANY (non MMF made apps also) on the SD card.
I am not sure if its a custom limit from the phone company or the version of Android it runs.
Jeff, fro my little experience with Android, you must have Root access to you phone in order to install/run apps from SDCard.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab and not have any problem for install in SD.
It's possible there are some security settings in new Android versions for to lock SD installs?
I remember seeing some posts online when I was looking around that it was something in version 4+ where you couldn't do it unless your phone was rooted.
There is always hope Google will change this ... I can't figure out why they restricted it like this.
The app developers are the ones who restrict it, from my understanding. I'm pretty sure it is to prevent someone from copying their game to their SD card, putting it in their friend's tablet/phone, copying the game over, and then effectively having pirating the game for their friend.
Yes, the only meaning it has is to prevent piracy. It is too easy to hack a paid game, even in many cases use their resources, when it's in the SD.
On the other hand, in google play are being published apps like AppInstaller that can extract any app from internal memory to the SD, something that makes no sense if google fight against piracy.
