Sloped platforms in Platform Movement Object

Anyone got tips on how to do this?

By platforms I mean the "object is overlapping platform" rather than "object is overlapping obstacle".

I don't think you can do that. I know you can make slopes with obstacles, but I doubt you can do it for jump-through platforms. The difference between "obstacles" and "platforms" is that "platforms" are jump-through. You can simply make your sloped platforms count as "obstacles", and it should work just fine.

I'll check this out when I get home, thanks for your help.

At the same time, this is a hack that I probably will not undertake.

As I said, the movement works completely fine in Windows runtime.

If I run the same exact MFA on iOS, player cannot walk UP any slope.

Player can walk down a slope just fine on iOS.

    It's a bug in PMO / iOS.

I just removed the upward sloping bg obj. Sad that I had to do so, but that's life.

I'd like to get this working, is there a way of tricking PMO into handling jump-through slopes?

    Try this?
    slopedplat.PNG

    + Test for obstacle overlap
    + Y position [player] < = Y [sloped platform]
    + PMO is not jumping
+ [player] is overlapping [sloped platform]
    - Selected object overlaps an obstacle

WARNING: The action point MUST be touching the highest non-transparent pixels. For instance, if your hotspot is set to 0x0, make sure you move the y hotspot to preferably touching the first non-transparent pixel. Don't set it to center or the player will collide with the platform from the side.

    EDIT: reorder the collision test:
    + Test for obstacle overlap
+ [player] is overlapping [sloped platform]
    + Y position [player] < = Y [sloped platform]
    + PMO is not jumping
    - Selected object overlaps an obstacle

Just duplicate this code for two or more different object qualifiers if you want overlapping sloped platforms and make sure no two matching qualifier platforms are close enough to each other that the player can overlap both otherwise the player will fall through.
