Sub-application closes on frame change... why?

Hello and good day!

I'm having a silly problem and I'm not sure why the application is doing what it's doing. Anyways, what I'm attempting is a tabbed configuration window for a game I'm working on, like so...

Just as the image above, I was going to do this with the use of frames.

When I test my sub-application directly, the frame change works just as it should. However, when I test it from my main application, changing the frame closes the sub-application and exits back to main.

Why is it doing this? Is there a better way to achieve what I'm attempting?

I don't want everything on one frame, it'll look cluttered, but I suppose it could be done with Layers :/

Speaking of... if I go the Layers route, is there a way to show/hide all objects within a layer? I mean, besides manually clicking through and setting behaviors. I looked for a simple Hide Layer command but either I'm blind or just can't find it o.o

With regards to the sub-application. Have you tried it with the built .exe?
