    Ouya Resolution?

    Hi,
    just a qestion to the ouya experts


    1. what is the best resolution to dev. a ouya game?

    2. what resolutions supportet by the ouya?

    With the exporter as it is now, set display to center and resolution to 1920x1080. Setting your display to anything else than center and your framerate suffers.
    Set frame and runtime to 60fps and OpenGL to 1.1. No V-Sync

    You can have about 180 active objects before dropping below 60fps.
    Transparency, scaling and ink effects have little impact on performance, but large objects filling the screen are problematic.

    It really depends on your code and the size of the actives. You could potentially have 5x that, depending on what you're doing.

    so we have a new console and the possibility to develop for this console
    but we can only address 5% of the performance?

    Bipolar> Can you send me an example where you have done that.

    My test consists of 8x8pixel objects set to ball movement that bounce around. I spawn objects as long as the fps counter is greater than 59. My object counter stops around 180. So this is a test with hardly any logic at all, and very small objects.

    I don't think using built-in extensions is a good way to test that Javira, as the built-in extensions are notoriously unoptimized.

    Good point. But I have done other test where all objects are static, and their coordinatea are updated instead. Although not the same test. Performance is still very low.

    Frame rate and scaling are really weird on the ouya right now.
