    Platform Enemy AI

    I'm trying to make a smart enemy AI in a platforming environment.


    The yellow is the enemy, and I'm wondering what kinda methods I could use to make him jump up to get to the player. Would I have to litter the map with detectors? Or could I do smart detector of the map layout based on where the enemy is?

    Just looking for ideas

    (Both enemy and player are using Platform Movement Object at the moment)

    The easiest way to do it would be to make the platforms (not the walls, the platforms,) jump-through. That way, the enemies could just be programmed jump whenever the player is higher than them, and to move to the left/right when the player is to the left/right of them.
