Just noticing that this statement is wrong and Flash can't do this.

There's no option to do this inside Flash Runtime or inside the Ini object, any path leading to this ara blank and doesn't works.

    Hi,
I just stumbled upon this topic and I have to say, reading an INI file stored in Binary Data in the Flash Runtime still doesn't work for me.

I followed this tutorial : http://download.clickteam.com/tutorials/en/binary-data.pdf and made a simple MFA including a binary INI file and reading a simple value, and built a SWF application from it (both are attached to my post).
When I test this application in Fusion 2.5 (build 281.2) by pressing F8, it works, but the SWF version doesn't (although I tried to built an Android version, which works well).

    Any help would be appreciated

    Hi,

did you try unckeck the UTF8 flag, is your ini file in ANSI, if so need, you need to unchecked the UTF8 flag.

please test and let me know

(at my side, some changes are made in the code to handle INI file in Unicode, available for next beta)

Just unchecked the "UTF8" and "create in Application Data" flag, and converted my file to ANSI (my ini file was in UTF8 before anyway), it still doesn't work :/

Found a sort of solution : putting my INI contents into a List object, and writing the List contents to another INI file when the game starts (which takes about 5 seconds...).
Of course this is a bad workaround, it would be much better with a working binary data...
