    Question Question about effects of the # of events on an application

    Hi, I have a quick question. How many events on the event editor would it take until the application begins to slow down? Let's say we are not using any group of events to deactivate unused code.

    You could have a million "Always" events and that would not slow down an application.

    The main source of slow down resulting from code will be from the specific conditions and actions within an event.

    For example;

    + Always
    - Add 1 to counter
    ^ is faster than

    + Object A is overlapping Object B
    - Add 1 to counter
    which is faster than

    + Object A is overlapping Object B
    - Change color X to color Y in Animation A

    Having floating point math (numbers with decimals) also slows down events.

    + Always
    - Add 25 to counter
    is faster than

    + Always
    - Add 2.5 to counter
    Long story short;
    The number of events do not slow down an application, the type of conditions and actions within events are the true culprits.

    Hmmm... I see, I see. I suppose then there's really no way to know precisley how many events would slow down an application. It depends on the complexity of actions and conditions and how many of those there are. I suppose thats when activating and deactivating grouped events would then be helpful aside from organization. Alright, Thanks, ProdigyX.
