I've been using WINE in order to get my game to run on Mac computers, and for the most part it's worked beautifully aside from occasional framerate issues. The thing is, the Character Image object causes the game to crash whenever the player enters a frame in which it exists. I realize that Clickteam will probably not fix problems related to Wine-wrapped applications, but I'd at least like to know why the crashes could be occurring so my team and I can figure out a workaround.
Speaking of workarounds, is there an alternative method I can use for displaying custom fonts without the Character Image or Text Blitter extensions? I think I recall a method that used active objects but I don't remember where I put the example files for it.
